A performance by artists Blanc Sceol (Stephen Shiell & Hannah White), in collaboration with artist Victoria Rance. A sonic prayer to Deptford Creek, or “Mother Creek”, life giver, nurturer and restorer. We all begin in water. We are made of water, our watery tears come when we laugh and when we cry. This honouring of the Creek, with its sounds, smells, mud and wildlife, invites us to reconsider this relationship, together ending the performance with an offering to the creek outside the gallery.
Blanc Sceol are artist duo Stephen Shiell and Hannah White. Their performances and interventions express their experience of place, anchored in landscape and re-imagined into new territory. They create encounters to connect materially and energetically to their surroundings.
Victoria Rance award winning artist creates sculptures the viewer can interact with, either physically or in the imagination. Based at APT Studios in Deptford London UK.
